look, a secondhand book

a page turns, languid, like a revolving door,
this secondhand book has seen it all before;
as the dust held-breaths escape,
ask how many years forlorn
has it waited for the rape,
for time to be torn,
violated by a new reader’s eyes,
it, in resurrection dies,
and is stillborn.
