they lay the white-lime marks

  upon the parks

    for tournaments of players

the planet is dying

  yet they are vying

    to be those alpha players

given a sporting chance

  the world might advance

    and find a solitary solution

but no 

   off they go 

      them there super players

away the lads 

        on the park

           drop your rubbish

                             what a lark

for extra time has been called 
  and although the goal’s uncertain 
    if we miss this one we’ll all be appalled 
       when they drop the final curtain
