high dudgeon in a deep dungeon
whence all-of-a-sudden
the cullis is pouring solace
into the mouths of a populace
of gargoyles
guarding
the memorial gardens
memories now laid to rest
in the mausoleums of follies
found deep in the grounds of
mansions that laud it over
the peasant’s penury
a paupers grave
perpetually in
flagrante delicto
in chains
