Captivated

 Captivated 

In my childhood I was bemused by the metronome of girls skipping:

Salt

Pepper

Vinegar             and

Mustard

or was it

Salt

Mustard

Vinegar             and

Pepper

and

What did the repeated incantation mean?

Was I safe from it?

Now I am captivated.
