the gardenering
beyond the deep blue lobelia
the lavender palely bees
beyond the palely lavender
the redhead bottlebrushes droop
next to self-same lobelia
the red geranium stands
stalwart above the cat
who is sleeping lately late
upon yon lengthening sunbeam
that sets hot upon the seat
warm cobbles up these gentle words
oh july july
such a lovely blue sky
smiles are all around
butterflies abound
and your bees your bees
gardenering their knees
another year snoozes away
