when longevity and posterity in the thesaurus close
and all the senses are failing yet perception rose
strange how one gets faster as one slows
how two get closer as two implores
that time be kind these latter days
and not enforce two separate ways
how undeserved these treasures seem to be
that have accrued as if in a life of dream to me
the stage is set the scions draw offstage
our greatest masterpiece this final page
draw the curtain on our creativity show
it is time to take our final bow and yet
and yet as coloured words kaleidoscope
life we see is built on hope and always
always worth another spin
so
open your hearts let the newcomers in
the best show on earth is about to begin
