do you have time for tea?
janey
i don’t have the words
which is not like me at all
could i be like you
is a thought i guess many have
there is nothing one can say
to someone who is on their own
in the midst of care
on their own
people are close
very very close
the even say you are not on your own
holding hands is very very close
but
even in normal times
we are so very very close
to being alone
but we have our own lives to live
it is when you have your own life to die
that the alone seems lonely
the closeness almost a barrier
not one word can break
crack yes
paint lovely colours yes
but break
no
and it breaks you when you realise
that there is but one end for all of us
and it is ours alone
who the fuck want’s to be remembered
remember that
it’s meaningless
there’s no point in it
no point in wondering if there is
unable to let go of yourself
one screams in frustration
who asked for this
you ask
and not one person answers
for it has set them wondering
and they would rather not
slow down
hurry up
soon is best left unsaid
but sooner is your name now
and you had better get used to using it
no one dare say it
so you might as well spell it out
it is not you alone who is alone
we all intone in unison
hello will do instead of goodbye
see you soon my love
take care
the kettle is boiling
