rattle
firstly
their (note: our ~ but i am the observer here)
ears go cold at the lobe
between finger and thumb
then there is cold blue sweat on their nose
followed by glistening on the forehead
then their breathing slows
and slows and
then it stops
and then
it starts again
cheyne stokes respiration it is called
we call it cheyne stoking
then it’s over
after a suitable wait to be sure
gentle smiles for everyone
cups of tea stir
then there are the forms to fill in
