why do we have ve day (no! not vd day!)
there should be a medal
for people who refuse to wear medals
for the polish is tarnished
and no amount of burnish
will bring them back
deep inside us all
the mob gene will fight
for peace and quiet
underneath the ceremony
never remember to forget
that
they said never again
yet
again and again
we polish their medals
