a walk awakes
the lay of the land
on the other hand point
to the destination of your path
through the garlic under the trees
and sit a while
enjoy the breeze
for days like these are rare indeed
fulfilling a need we did not realise
was wandering slowly to a close
but opened this early summer’s day
for that is the way my friend
over there under the trees
around the corner
shivery shakes in the breeze
i’m upon my knees for
look at this beetle iridescent
was ever life as pleasant
as our company in it today my friends
