pain snagged
on the broken hinge of that time
grasped tight
on a door handle in no time at
all clog-hopping down the stairs
reverberating from the slammed door
no more ~ stuck in the gullet of a scream
come back comes back as an echo
of a memory trapped in the amber
of another mourning sun
